Jeffrey B. Peters
President & CEO
Jeffrey B. Peters is Founder, CEO, and President
of USMDC. He has worked in Mexico for over thirty years. During
that time, he has successfully completed over 100 U.S.-Mexican
Business Transactions. He arranged a joint venture between a U.S.
energy company and the top Mexican company in its field. He has
represented a U.S. company in the US$4 million sale of equipment
to the Mexican government. He located a local Mexican sales
representative for a U.S. manufacturer of steel industry
equipment. In addition, he has facilitated five hotel joint
venture/resort property sales and three agribusiness projects. Mr.
Peters is Executive Director Emeritus of the U.S.-Mexico
Quadripartite commission, an organization founded by former
Senator Jacob Javits and former Mexican President Jose Lopez
Portillo. The commission consisted of thirty corporate CEO's on
both sides of the border. In this capacity, Mr. Peters worked
closely with the CEO of Equitable Life Assurance Society as well
as senior executives from The Prudential, The Metropolitan and The
Aetna life insurance companies.
Previously, Mr. Peters directed a performance
review of a Mexican Agribusiness Project for the Ford Foundation
and directed the financial analysis of a US$100 million project
loan for the World Bank. In addition, he served as an
International Corporate Loan Officer for Manufacturers Hanover
Trust Company. He is a graduate of Harvard College and the
University of the Americas in Mexico.
Catherine H. Chase Peters
VP & Partner
Catherine H. Chase Peters is Vice President and
Partner of USMDC. She has worked with The U.S.-Mexican Development
Corporation since 1980; and has traveled and worked extensively in
Ms. Peters designs and edits brochures, executive
sales memorandums, and various other marketing publications for
USMDC and its clients; as well as serving as project photographer
for USMDC publications. She is also director of office management,
bookkeeping and tax preparation for the corporation.
Ms. Peters has a varied background in business,
education and art. She previously owned and operated a high
quality crafts store in Woodstock, New York, where she sold works
by major artists, including her own tapestries and fiber work. She
also owned her own school and production studio near Woodstock.
Her entrepreneurial skills were demonstrated when she started and
served as director of several small schools in the field of
elementary and art education.
She is, by training, an art teacher and master
weaver, having earned her Master of Fine Arts Degree at the School
for American Craftsmen at the Rochester Institute of Technology.
